APPLICATIONS, RESEARCH & DESIGN

APPLICATIONS: Magnesia powders produced by UCM Magnesia exhibit specific electrical and thermal properties which make them suitable for a wide range of applications ranging from the most basic water heating to the most demanding industrial applications.

Typical uses include:

1. Heating elements for domestic washing and cooking appliances

2. Friction compounds

3. Diesel engine glow plugs

4. Mineral insulated electrical cables

 Research & Development: UCM Magnesia's technical resource is unrivalled within the specialist magnesia industry.

As well as our in-company development facilities at both of our manufacturing locations, UCM Magnesia's customers can also benefit from access to the world-class C.A.R.R.D., Research and Development centre in Villach, Austria, which was opened in 2004 following a €2.4m investment by Imerys SA, UCM Magnesia's parent company.

At C.A.R.R.D., a team of scientists and technicians, linked also to the wider Imerys R&D network, is available to help our customers find solutions to the many technological challenges that face them in today's markets.
